                                           Rank: Order

                                     Mass:                         Length :

    Barn Owl :       430-620 g  ;                32-40 cm

 ➤  Ural owl :          780 g                         50-62cm

Owls are birds from the order Strigiformes, which includes about 200 species of mostly solitary and nocturnal birds of prey typified by an upright stance, a large, broad head, binocular vision, binaural hearing, sharp talons, and feathers adapted for silent flight. Exceptions include the diurnal northern hawk-owl and the gregarious burrowing owl.

Owls hunt mostly small mammals, insects, and other birds, although a few species specialize in hunting fish. They are found in all regions of the Earth except Antarctica and some remote islands.

Owls are divided into two families: the Strigidae family of true(or typical)owls; and the Tytonidae family of barn-owls.

Actually, there is no reason for these young tawny owls to look so grim. On the contrary they could cheer up, because their species have just recently been announced as 'Bird of the year 2017' in Germany. Towny Owls prefer deciduous and mixed forests, but sometimes they also choose coniferous forests as habitats. There are over 1 million breeding pairs around the world.Nearly 90% of the population are in Europe.

Beauy of Nature overloaded with Dippers

What ever you see in the nature, there is a meaning in it.So, lets have some look on it.

                                  White-throated dipper:

                              Scientific Name: Cinclus cinclus

                             Conservation Status: Least Concern

                                        Phylum: Chordata

                              Higher Classification: Dipper

                                        Rank: Species

                                     Order: Passerine

                                  Family: Cinclidae

The white-throated dipper, also known as the European dipper or just dipper, is an aquatic passerine bird found in Europe, Middle East, Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.

A hike through Lathkill Dale in Peak District National Park should always include a stop at Tufa Dam on the River Lathkill. There’s a good chance you’ll see a white-throated dipper standing in or near the water, bending and bobbing and finally making a move to catch a meal—maybe a beetle, small fish, or amphibian.

The dipper was first described as Sturnus cinclus by Carl Linnaeus in 1758. The genus and species name cinclus derives from the Greek word kinklos that used to describe small tail-wagging birds that resided near water.

There are 13 extant and extinct subspecies for the dipper

➢ C.c. cinclus 'Black-bellied Dipper' (Linnaeus, 1758) Scandinavia, western France, northwestern Spain, Corsica, Sardinia, and a migrant and infrequently travels to the British Isles from Shetland to Kent.

➢ C.c. gularis 'British Dipper' (Latham, 1801). England, Wales, and Scotland excluding western regions and the Hebrides.

➢ C.c. hibernicus 'Irish Dipper' (E. Hartert, 1910). Ireland and Western Scotland including the Hebrides

➢ C.c. aquaticus 'Southern European Dipper' (Bechstein, 1797). Central and southern Europe, ranging from Belgium, eastern France and Spain toward Greece, Poland and Sicily.

➢ C.c. minor 'Northwest African Dipper' (Tristam, 1870). Mountainous terrain of Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco.

➢ C.c. caucasicus 'Caucasus Dipper' (von Madarász, 1903). Caucasus mountains ranging to Iran, Iran, and Turkey. Winters in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

➢ C.c. persicus 'Persian Dipper' (Witherby, 1906). Southwest Iran in the Zagros and Bakhtiari mountains.

  ➢ C.c. rufivrentris 'Lebanon Dipper' (Tristam, 1884). Anti-Lebanon mountains.

➢ C.c. olympicus 'Cyprus Dipper' (von Madarász, 1903). Formerly in the Troodos mountains in Cyprus; currently extinct. Last recorded in 1945, and almost certainly extinct by 1958.

➢ C.c uralensis 'Ural Dipper' (Serebrovski, 1927). Ural Mountains.

➢ C.c. leucogaster 'White-bellied Dipper' (Bonaparte, 1850). Northern Afghanistan through Central Asia toward Eastern Siberia.

➢ C.c. cashmeriensis 'Cashmir Dipper' (Gould, 1860). Himalayas from western Kashmir to Sikkim.

➢ C.c. przewalskii 'Przewalskii Dipper' (Bianchi, 1905). Mountains of southern Tibet and western China.

➢ C.c. baicalensis (Dressen, 1892). No detailed georgraphy given.

Jaguar! Not Cars

IS THE JAGUAR ARE GOING TO EXTINCT?

Scientific Name: Panthera onca

Mass: 56 – 96 kg (Adult)

Conservation Status: Near Threatened (Population decreasing)

Lifespan: 12 – 15 years (In the wild)

Height: 63 – 76 cm (Adult, At Shoulder)

Did you know: Unlike many other cats, jaguars do not avoid water; in fact, they are quite good swimmers.

The Jaguar (Panthera onca) is a big cat, a feline in the  Panthera Genus, and is the only extanct Panthera species native to the Americas. The jaguar is the third-largest feline after the tiger and the lion, and the largest in the Americas. The jaguar's present range extends from Southwestern United States and Mexico across much of Central America and south to Paraguay and northernArgentina. Though there are single cats now living within the western United States, the species has largely been extirpated from the United States since the early 20th century.

This spotted cat most closely resembles the leopard physically, although it is usually larger and of sturdier build and its behavioral and habitat characteristics are closer to those of the tiger. While dense rainforest is its preferred habitat, the jaguar will range across a variety of forested and open terrains. Its preferred habitats are usually swamps and wooded regions, but jaguars also live in scrublands and deserts. The jaguar is notable, along with the tiger, as a feline that enjoys swimming. The jaguar is largely a solitary, opportunistic, stalk-and-ambush predator at the top of the food chain (an apex predator). It is a keystone species , playing an important role in stabilizing ecosystems and regulating the populations of the animals it hunts. The jaguar has an exceptionally powerful bite, even relative to the other big cats. This allows it to pierce the shells of armored reptiles and to employ an unusual killing method: it bites directly through the skull of prey between the ears to deliver a fatal bite to the brain.

The jaguar is a near-threatend species and its numbers are declining. Threats include loss and fragmentation of habitat. While international trade in jaguars or their parts is prohibited, the cat is still frequently killed by humans, particularly in conflicts with ranchers and farmers in South America. Although reduced, its range remains large. Given its historical distribution, the jaguar has featured prominently in the mythology of numerous indigenous American culture, including those of the Maya and Aztec.

                                        Range of Jaguar

Population:

At best, only an estimated 15,000 jaguars remain in the wild. Bi-national conservation efforts have been successful at protecting a small population of 80 to 120 cats in the remote mountains of Sonora, Mexico bordering Arizona.  This population is the largest of three known to remain in Sonora, and is the last hope for recovery in the United States.

Everybody in the world know about milk. They also know where the milk is coming from , right.
Every living being on the earth definitely wants  3 things. They are
1 Food
2 Shelter
3 Clothes
The animals does not need the clothes but they need food and shelter. Some people  establish dairy farms for milk. They feed their cattle and also give them shelters. But some one they are selfish they leave their cattle on the road and at evening time they come for their cattle and get the milk from them they don't even feed them.
Like India, in some countries the cattle are worshiped. They treat like they are goddess , but why they are leaving on road. They also has heart.
What is my feeling about them is, They worship them only on that festival days then remaining days they are not goddess, What this type of thinking change their mindset.Let them live with peace . Don't leave them on roads.

Hi viewers,I had clicked these shots two days back at Jakkampudi Colony, Vijayawada. It is one of the big colony of Vijayawada but there is no neatness maintained here.
Nobody  can care about that Colony.Where are those Swacha Bharat members they are not noticing this colony WHY?
They are  cleaning only at the main streets in Vijayawada or they are cleaning only where the media covers the news about it.
My money, my comfort, my wish, myself, this is the present situation is there around us.If we are like this, what about our future generations. Will  you not able to give the next generation a beautiful environment or not.
Humans are attempting suicide playing with the environment. They don't know about what they are going to do with the environment. If anything was  wrong with our body we will go to doctors.Like that trees are doctors of the environment. So, plant the trees as many for the recovery of the environment.

Until the early 21th century,it was considered  a distinct subspecies. Results of genetic studies indicate that the Caspian tiger was a population of the Siberian Tiger. As of 2017,only two tiger subspecies are considered as valid, Viz the mainland Asian tiger Panthera Tigris Tigris and the Sundaland tiger Panthera Tigris Sondaica.

The Caspian Tiger was one of the biggest cats to have ever lived, and was described as being intermediate in size between Siberian and Bengal Tigers. Depending on the region of origin,it was also called Hyrcania tiger, Turanian tiger, Persian tiger, and Babre Mazandaran.

                  Indo Chinese Tiger:

Did you know: Indo Chinese Tiger is a tiger subspecies occuring in Myanmar, Thailand, Lao PDR, Viet Nam,Cambodia and South Western China. It is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List, as the population seriously declined in recent years and approaches the threshold for Critically Endangered, with 342 individuals estimated as per 2011.

The largest population unit survives in Thailand estimated at 189 to 252 individuals. There are 85 individuals in Myanmar and only 20 Indo Chinese tigers remain in Viet Nam.It is considered extinct in Cambodia.

The tigers in peninsula Malaysia, formerly classified as Indo Chinese have recently been  reclassified as a separate subspecies, the Malayan Tiger(Panthera Tigris Jacksoni)

It's head is smaller than of the Bengal Tiger, the ground coloration is darker  with more rather short and narrow single stripes.

                             Bali Tiger:

Scientific Name: Panthera Tigris Balica

  Conservation Status: Extinct in                                                                       1937

Did you know: The Bali Tiger, harimau Bali in Indonesia, or samong in Balinese is an extinct tiger subspecies that was native to the Indonesian island of Bali.It was the first tiger subspecies that became extinct in recent times. It was one of three subspecies of tiger found in Indonesia, together with the Javan Tiger which is also extinct, and critically endangered Sumatran tiger.

There is no record of a Balinese  tiger ever being held in a zoo collection. It was the smallest of all 9 tiger subspecies.

The last specimen definitely recorded was a female shot at Sumbar Kina west Bali, on 27 September 1937.However, a few animals likely survived into the 1940's and possibly 1950's.The subspecies became extinct because of habitat loss and hunting.

Bali  tigers had short fur that was a deeper, darker orange and had  fewer stripes than other tiger subspecies. Occasionally, between the stripes, were small black spots.

Bali Tiger also had  unusual ,bar-shaped patterns on their head. The white fur on their underbellies often stood out more than that of other tiger subspecies because of their darker-colored fur.The  white fur also had a more distinct and curved line.

These are the all types of Tigers that are living on earth.Among of the 9 species 3 are already extincted.Save the Tigers. They are also a part of the nature.Let them live.

The Sumatran tiger is in Orange,Black, White with striped fur and smaller body.
Sumatran tigers have slightly webbed paws which allows them to swim more efficiently after their prey
Today due to habitat loss caused by deforestation, and hunting by human poachers, the Sumatran tiger is considered to be a critically endangered species.Modern estimates suggests that the current wild Sumatran tiger population is as low as 400-500 individuals
